It's tough being a techie. You've got to deal with constant system failures, user ignorance, and under-appreciation. No wonder the boys in the back office tech-support department have a bad attitude.

In this episode, we're privy to the secret dialogue between these mysterious and infallible computer geniuses. Basically, most of their conversation consists of how Microsoft is deliberately producing defective products, how Bill Gates is bribing senators, and how Star Trek was communist propaganda (?There is no money, no religion, and everyone works for the government??).

They also debate the merits of the new Gateway versus the new MacIntosh, and the glories of Lara Croft's simulated womanhood. A humorous look into the minds of the folks who are keepin' it all together.

Behind the Scenes

Shot with a Canon Optura Mini DV camera and edited with Adobe Premiere 5.1 in February of 2000, Shot in a marathon shoot day on a Sunday on location at the Banc One Securities Corp office for which the writer/director was later fired.

The Back Office series was the first short movie venture from SONNYBOO PRODUCTIONS back in 2000. Often very rough & not so good in the writing/directing, the art of making movies was learned on these shoots and in the editing. Watching Back Office shorts are a journey into the evolution of an apsiring filmmaker. Or possibly a journey to Canada.
