Behind the Scenes

Originally a PSA for the Columbus Film Consortium, Sonnyboo productions is proud to announce it's foray into ANIMATION and ROTOSCOPING. Much like Richard Linklater's WAKING LIFE, we took DV footage and then re-created it in an animation style through a painstaking process of frame by frame extrapolation and the creation of all new frames.

Originally written as a final thesis for a sociology grad student by Peter John Ross, actually as a "for hire". The final paper got a "B-" and the reward was something more personal.

One of the best things about this new style is that we can re-use footage and create an all new short from existing footage. According to the contracts, I maintained all rights to the screenplay, so this has created an entirely original work.
